Nantwich
The Llangollen Canal starts just north of the historic market town of Nantwich. One of Cheshire's most picturesque market towns, Nantwich is rich in history. The 14-th century parish church in the town centre is one of three great salt churches, and the Churches Mansion is just one of the many fine examples of Tudor architecture in the town.
Whitchurch
The Roman town of Whitchurch is your next stop on the Llangollen Canal. Named 'Mediolanum' by the Romans, Whitchurch is home to the oldest clockmakers in the world- J.B. Joyce. You can see fine examples of their work in the amazing public clocks all over Whitchurch. Stretch your legs in Jubilee Park, where there are a choice of many walks and nature trails.
