Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury Festival

This year's Glastonbury Festival kicks off at the tail end of June (24th - 28th June 2009) and boasts an unbeatable lineup of acts including Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Blur, Lily Allen, Nick Cave, Fleet Foxes and The Prodigy.

The main stages are joined by hundreds of smaller venues where you'll discover up and coming bands, fringe theatre, film, DJs, comedy and cabaret. There's also pretty much every sort of bizarre and outlandish performance art you could imagine and some that you couldn't.

Glastonbury is the biggest greenfield festival of music and arts in the world and covers a vast site in the relaxed, rural county of Somerset. It's like visiting a colourful, sweet-sounding city that's surreal, surprising and inspiring.

"Glasto" is the big one, the blueprint for all modern festivals and there really is nothing quite like it. Unfortunately, it's not easy to get tickets. There's a registration process each year, and if you're selected, you can buy your tickets. The registration date for this year's festival has passed, but expect to pay around £175 for next year's tickets.
