Aberdovey GC has just won the 2008 Welsh Golf Club of the Year!
This prestigous award was presented by the Golf Union Of Wales at a gala dinner held at the Vale Resort in Glamorgan. Attendees at the event were First Minister - Rhodri Morgan, Chief Exec RCW 2010 - Rob Holt, Secretary GUW - Richard Dixon and Past Ryder Cup Captain - Ian Woosnam.
The Golf Union of Wales stated that the vision of the club had been a significant factor in securing the award. This was displayed by engaging at all levels including the request and delivery of support grants from RCW 2010 (ICT)and RCW 2010 Legacy Fund (Junior Passport Office). The recent STRI ecology improvement plan and cross party communications with CCW also demonstrated best practice within the golf industry.
On winning the award, Club Manager Ian Hamilton added; This is a tremendous achievement which rewards the hard work of all our staff. The key to this was teamwork, embracing change and professionalism. Our team deserve every credit in their quest to deliver a first class golf experience.
