An area of great diversity, the valleys of South Wales offer a different perspective on Wales.
Newly regenerated countryside offers fantastic opportunities. The Taff Trail stretches for 68 miles from Cardiff Bay in the south to Brecon in the north and offers a trail for walkers, mountain bikes and horses. The Celtic Trail also offers a chance to wander through valleys, mountains and forests.
History plays a huge part too in this part of Wales. Once the producer of a third of all of Britain’s wealth during the industrial revolution, the valleys are turning green once more but there are plenty of places you can go to see exactly why this area was so important. Visit Big Pit Museum, where you get a chance to experience life as a miner by going 300 feet underground and the nearby World Heritage site at Blaenafon, showcasing two centuries of living history.
Rugby is a huge passion around here, check out the local rugby club, watch a match and enjoy the post match analysis at the pub afterwards!
